Anvil GPL WordPress Theme 1.3

In Web Development, Wordpress on February 1, 2008 at 4:38 pm

For those of you who are fans of our Anvil WordPress Theme, a new version – 1.3 has just been released and is now available to download.  I’ve been testing it out on my own blog (at least, at the date of writing – that may change in the future) and it’s still one of our favourites.  It’s flexible, powerful, and easy to customise.

To download it, simply go to the official Anvil Demo Site and get it from there.  The site also has plenty of information on the theme’s features.

  1. You claim that it’s easy to customize but I noticed that CSS code that comes with theme is a natural mess. Why do you do this?

  2. In what way do you mean a mess?

The idea of making it easy to customise is more for non-css experts anyway.

Of course, the css is generated through php because it has parameterised, easy to understand options. Perhaps the best approach would be to say “easy to customise for non-experts”.

Our approach is to help people like graphic designers who understand image and graphical elements, but don’t do enough web work to make it worth their while fully grasping today’s complex css requirements – especially when it comes to browser compatibility.

Of course, having just looked at the demo site I see there’s a few things need fixing now. D’Oh!
